Mon (9/7): Labor Day - No School
Tues/Wed (9/8,9/9): Rhetorical Devices and Speaking Skills: For our first block of the week, we will be revisiting our favorite rhetorical devices: Ethos|Pathos|Logos. There will be lecture, notes, and clips to help students develop a deeper, college-level understanding of these devices. Students will have time during Noble Silence and at the end of class (time permitting) to work on preparing resources/outlines/evidence for the short-response essay portion of the test on 9/10,9/11. Click below for prompt sheets, in-class notes and links to video clips shown in class. Thurs/Fri (9/10,9/11): Test on The Road: For our second and last block of the week, we will wrap up our time with The Road in a reading analysis test. Students should expect a multiple choice section followed by a short answer response section.
