For this block, we will start by reviewing 6 different strategies for making an effective pitch. After that, the period will be devoted to preparing our Elevator Pitch presentations. For other resources on the Elevator Pitch, including the overview and the rubric, go to the Project 3 page: Project 3: Elevator Pitch Presentation **Remember: A draft of your Elevator Pitch is due on TurnItIn.com by the end of the day on Tuesday** Wed (11/18): Elevator Pitch Presentations: Wednesday is an all periods day for the 12th grade, and is the first day of Elevator Pitch presentations. Students will give their pitch at the time they chose from the Sign-Up Genius website. Before coming to the Elevator Pitch meeting, students should consider the following:

Wed/Fri (10/7,10/9): A Raisin in the Sun Act I: During this period we will start watching/reading the first act of A Raisin in the Sun. We will introduce the four main characters of the play, and will also familiarize ourselves with a method of quotation analysis that we will be using called Golden Lines.

NOTE: This week, the 12th grade team will be running a modified schedule to that Gov't/English classes can host visiting advocacy groups ACLU, CLCC, and CLRJ to speak to our seniors about writing public policy and policy briefs. Thursday will be an "all periods" schedule with presentations in the AM. On Friday, after advisory/CD, we will run a Thursday schedule. Thurs (10/8): Public Policy Presentations from CLCC and CLRJ *All Period Schedule today!*: Today, the 12th grade will be following a modified schedule which starts with presentations from two visiting advocacy groups. After seeing one of four presentations, students will rotate though all of their core classes for a shortened amount of time.
