Greetings Groundlings, This week, we start a new unit, a new theme, and a new author. This time of the school year is one of my favorites: it's time for Shakespeare! We will first be encountering one of his most gory and spooky, magic and epic and tragic plays of all time. A play so cursed some hesitate to say its name aloud: Macbeth! Here's what's in store for this week (including important links to videos we will watch!): |
Tues/Wed (2/16,2/17): Elizabethan England "Immersion Carousel": The majority of our block for this class will be spent immersing ourselves in Elizabethan culture. In small groups, students will watch a series of videos while taking guided notes about Shakespeare's England. After that, we will wrap up with our notes and with an intro to "The Scottish Play", aka: Macbeth.
