After our interview and quick refresher on "tone" and "mood", we will launch into a jigsaw style activity, where students will analyze quotations in small groups, and try to put in them into the correct order. We will use this to talk about major events in the novel.

After this discussion, students will have time to review and ask questions about the prompts for our first in-class essay, scheduled for next week, about The Road. Students will have four prompts to choose from*, and will have a week to prepare evidence via different activities.
*Students interested in English 12 Honors must respond to either prompt 3 or 4.
